in 2025 I co-founded a 501(c)(3) non-profit organization.

The mission of Silverlake Scream Show (SSS) is to ensure that emerging horror filmmakers in Los Angeles have equitable access to educational and financial resources. We empower artists to produce professional-quality films that enrich and elevate the horror genre, and we foster community through inclusive educational events and exciting networking opportunities.

SSS was born out of a desire to create. In 2022 we were working long hours as assistants in Hollywood. We had big dreams but limited time to make our own films and even less money. It was clear we needed a push. That’s when inspiration struck.

Why not transform our annual Silver Lake Halloween party into a full on short film showcase? We developed a game plan: we’d ask our friends to contribute low budget horror shorts, package them like the anthologies we loved as kids, and screen them for our friends. Not only did the plan come together – it was a huge hit. And every year since we’ve been overrun by a hungry horde of horror fans. 2024 was our biggest show yet.

We raised $10K through a crowdfunding campaign, with support from prominent filmmakers like Mark Duplass, Scott Derrickson, and Christopher Landon. A few corporate sponsors even joined in to support the cause! Most importantly, 500 horror fans and industry folks showed up. We realized we now had a real opportunity. We could use our resources and our platform to usher in the next wave of brilliant horror filmmakers.

Now in our fourth year, we’re actively seeking exciting sponsorship and partnership opportunities.
